Home is What You Make It.

This small series of photographs stemmed from an idea of how each of us calls the place in which we live, home. I initially started making images that showed how I personalized my own space with items hand selected from thrift shops, yard sales, and my travels, along with budget renovations to make my space “for me.” From this small series, a bigger idea grew from the initial project. I began to take notice of the people I would regularly see at local thrift shops, and how they would hand select unique items that matched pretty well with their persona. I began to wonder how these people lived, and through these object, how they represented their identities. So, I got in touch with these creative and thrifty individuals and asked if I could photograph them within their homes.
